Since 1990, when it has been finishing of beeing just an abandoned old country house, to now, it has been attended with care. Currently it's surrounded by biological cultivations of cherry trees, almond trees, olive trees, and other fruit trees, court animals, four dogs and a lot of cats, a small piece of land destined to officinal herbs and other tipical mediterranean cultures.
From
a while it's also official center of the cultural association "Masseria dei Monelli"
and of the Social Coop "In Puglia?".Dreaming with us, there are also a lot of children which came here from schools to learn, enjoyng the labs: the hand made bread and the cheese with spontaneous herbs. Everybody working for this dream.
Masseria economy, history and architecture offers a series of possibile
thoughts about energetic saving, on ecological principles, on man-earth tie.
For example: the cycle of water from roof to pit, well built home environment,
the aia (court) which makes possibile the washing of grain through the wind,
how to cook bread using extracts of pruning, the rings fixed on the roof of
the stable to help cows during delivery or disease.
These and more are the elements that ties man to nature due to a forgotten harmony.
Agriculture
In tightened relationship with environment, agriculture is often responsible
for health and quality of environment itself and men’s health.
Old as mankind, in the last years, agricolture has obtained quantitative dazzling
successes but qualitatively unsuccessful.
The “over-increased” productions made weak plants which have need, in increasing way,
of chemical products that pollute the water stratums, remain as residual on the agricultural
products of which we nourish and pollute the air that we breathe.

and to create with things that Mother Earth offers are sure
reasons of great satisfaction and deep integration.
The wisdom of the game in nature is the eternal message
of joy and youngness that knits all the generations,
that generates emotions and gives a real sense to every single existence.
Territory
The territory lived and thought as the whole of all places
in which the biological being and the thinking being, reaches
the harmony and develop in the unity.
Of this we would enjoy the experience during our walks.
To discover our roots “sinked” in the earth, the own needs
satisfied in nature, the own overlapped traces, in continuous
dialogue with the Environment is what we call Sustainable Development.
To at least deliver our planet to future generations in the same
conditions in which we have received it from the previous generations.
